Gabriella Engdahl is a Swedish choreographer and dancefilmmaker, based in London. Her work is signified by a characteristic visual language, distinct movements, storytelling and unfolding characters. Through her work, she lifts relatable struggles, especially in to relation to women/non-binary. She gained her Bachelor's degree studying at Northern School of Contemporary dance and Central Saint Martins and is currently hired for a year in Västervik, Sweden, as a Kommunkoreograf (county choreographer) making three original works. Her three dance films have been screened all over the world, and she was awarded “Most promising emerging young artist" at Leeds Int. Film Fest.
Drawing upon her experience and training, Gabriella teaches contemporary dance across all levels, from the beginner to the advanced dancer. She also teaches ballet from beginner to intermediate level. Her contemporary classes focus on movement and imagination, with the aim of offering a safe, open environment in which students feel encouraged to push themselves beyond their comfort zone. As well as challenging their physicality.
