based in London, UK.
Gabriella Engdahl is a Swedish choreographer and dance filmmaker, based in London blending dance, theatre and visual arts. Her imaginary creations are influenced by storytelling, surrealism, and characters, embodying the ethos of "more is more" as she encourages a playful and instinctive atmosphere in her working process. She has an interest in human behaviours, pushing ordinary scenarios, narratives, and emotional motives to their limits, infusing humour while subtly unsettling her audience. She gained a first degree honours studying at Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Central Saint Martins.
Drawing upon her experience and training, Gabriella teaches contemporary dance across all levels, from the beginner to the advanced dancer. She also teaches ballet from beginner to intermediate level. Her contemporary classes focus on movement and imagination, with the aim of offering a safe, open environment in which students feel encouraged to push themselves beyond their comfort zone. As well as challenging their physicality.
